Jim’s Place Delivers Hospitality, Continues Good Neighbor Partnership with Les Passees

MEMPHIS, TENN. (September 22, 2007)…The aroma of delicious food from Jim’s Place brought Les Passees President Jane Kimzey and Les Passees Stock Exchange Co-Chair Meredith Clark to the dining table on Friday, September 21.  Jim’s Place East General Manager Bill Taras and restaurant employee Wayne Conway personally delivered lunch to some 15 board members that day.

“This year, Jim’s Place East is an official sponsor of the 21st annual Les Passees Stock Exchange,” said Kimzey, a Germantown resident.  The Stock Exchange is a public consignment shop that raises money for the Les Passees Center for Children and Families and Les Passees Kids on the Block. “They started their tradition with us last year when, as a good neighbor, they surprised us with lunch,” Kimzey added. “Their restaurant is just down the street from our event location in Perimeter Center on Summer Ave.  Jim’s Place signed on to provide complimentary lunch for us in both September and October.”

“I look forward to every Friday,” said Clark, an East Memphis resident, who co-chairs the event with fellow board member Chantal Johnson.  “We love the food and certainly order our favorites each time - - like the grilled chicken salad and hamburgers and fries. It is such a great kindness for Jim’s Place to donate their services for all of our hardworking volunteers.”

“We wanted to continue our ‘good neighbor’ relationship and extend our hospitality for the duration of the Stock Exchange event this year,” said Jim’s Place co-owner Angelo Liollio.  “Both Jim’s Place and Les Passees are longstanding institutions dedicated to serving the community.”

The Les Passees Stock Exchange runs through October 28. Admission is free. Consignors receive up to 70 percent of their sale with the remaining amount going to Les Passees, according to President Kimzey. Call 685.0577 or visit www.lpmemphis.org for more information.

Founded in 1919, Les Passees is the oldest volunteer organization of women in Memphis. Their mission is to provide advocacy and support to enhance the quality of life for the community’s children and their families.
